The latest from MusclePharm’s Arnold Schwarzenegger Series comes ‘Iron Whey’, which not only makes a great pun, but with Schwarzenegger’s name attached makes it doubly effective. ‘Iron Whey for the Iron Way’ would have been a great motto for this product. In terms of value for money, Iron Whey comes in at #5 overall with 100g of actual protein costing $3.43; a very reasonable cost, particularly as it contains hydrolyzed whey.
MusclePharm Arnold Schwarzenegger Series Iron Whey Review
Protein Type and Content
This is another whey protein concentrate/isolate/hydrolyzed blend, so it would be ideal for those who are lactose sensitive or have digestion issues. Typical addition of BCAAs as well.
We should note however, that MusclePharm, was named as one of the defendants in the protein spiking law suit, with the suit noting that another product, MusclePharm’s Iron Mass, purportedly contained half of the claimed protein content due to spiked aminos. While this product was not specifically named, we at Protein Investor feel that this is a serious cause for concern. Buyer beware!
Other Nutritional Information
The other ingredients for this protein are also fairly standard, however we note that sugar at 2.5g is higher than normal.
Taste and Mixability
In terms of flavor and mixability, we have found the flavors to be fairly standard, not bad, but nothing great either. Online consensus seems to agree with us. Mixability is good with no issues in dissolving this protein powder by manual means.
Good value for money protein, but protein spiking may be an issue. Standard in all other aspects, except of course for the image of Schwarzenegger staring at you from the cover. You may possibly get extra gainz from this, as the power of Arnold’s stare has been known to increase muscle mass and motivation.
